(Watch) Komodo dragon interrupts the play on Day 2 of Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan Test in Colombo.
During Day 2 of the one-off Test match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo, an unusual interruption occurred when a Komodo dragon made its presence felt.The incident unfolded in the 48th over of Sri Lanka’s first innings when the Komodo dragon wandered onto the field, crossing over the boundary ropes. The umpires promptly halted play momentarily to ensure the safety of both players and the reptile. Subsequently, the dragon was guided away from the playing area and out of the boundary skirtings.

Komodo dragons are a notable sight at the Yala National Park in Sri Lanka. These creatures belong to the monitor lizard species and can grow up to 9.8 feet in length, weighing as much as 70 kg. However, the dragon that ventured onto the field during the Test match was described as being only the size of a hand.
