“David Warner is the greatest Australia cricketer across all format”:Australian Head Coach Andrew McDonald.

Australia’s head coach, Andrew McDonald, has praised the potential of Australian opener David Warner, considering him a candidate for the country’s greatest all-format player. In an interview with cricket.com.au, McDonald acknowledged the challenge of finding a replacement for Warner, recognizing his unmatched experience and talent.

At the age of 37, Warner is set to bid farewell to Test cricket after the New Year clash against Pakistan at his home ground, the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Andrew Mcdonald said “He might eventually be regarded as one of the best, but currently, he stands as our greatest player across all three formats. He will step back from Test match cricket, and that will be a significant loss.”

Despite facing criticism about his place in the Test team, Warner silenced skeptics with a remarkable score of 164 in the first innings of the Perth Test against Pakistan.

“Internally, we acknowledge the criticisms aimed at him, but we also recognize the substantial value he contributes to the team. That’s why we’ve consistently selected him. He reaffirmed our faith with a strong performance in the first Test. Finding a replacement won’t be easy he boasts a strike rate of 70, averages 45, and holds the record for the most runs as an Australian opener” added the Australian coach.
