Australia dethrones India to become No.1 Test Side in the ICC Rankings.

Australia has surged to the top spot in the latest ICC Test rankings, replacing India, after securing a 2-0 lead in the three-match series against Pakistan led by Pat Cummins. Despite India’s historic seven-wicket win over South Africa in Cape Town, Australia’s consecutive victories propelled them to the No. 1 position, ending India’s reign across all formats. Both teams had 118 ratings before the update, but Australia’s back-to-back wins tilted the scales in their favor.

In ODIs, Australia, the reigning world champions, currently hold the second position with a rating of 117, while India leads the chart with 121 points. In T20Is, India dominates with 265 ratings, outpacing England, who hold the second spot with 256 ratings.

Following their triumph in Cape Town, India also leads the World Test Championship points table with a percentile of 54.16%, while South Africa is second with 50%.

Turning to player rankings, Kane Williamson maintains his position as the No. 1 Test player, despite missing several matches in 2023 due to a knee injury. Babar Azam tops the ODI player rankings, and Suryakumar Yadav retains his position as the No. 1 T20I player. Among bowlers, Ravichandran Ashwin, Keshav Maharaj, and Adil Rashid lead the rankings in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, respectively.
