The International Cricket Council (ICC) has concluded the announcements of the ICC Awards 2023 winners, with Australia captain Pat Cummins securing the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year. On the women’s side, England all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt clinched her second successive Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year.

These accolades recognize both players as the outstanding performers across all formats of international cricket in 2023. The announcements unfolded over four days on ICC official channels, revealing Teams of the Year and individual award winners in 13 categories since Monday.

The winners of the ICC Awards were determined through votes from an independent panel of prominent media representatives, known as the ICC Voting Academy, as well as the input of hundreds of thousands of global cricket fans. Voting for the top performers in 2023 took place from early January.

Among the distinguished international stars honored with individual awards in the ICC Awards 2023 announcements were Australia batter Usman Khawaja, who earned the title of ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year. India’s prolific batter Virat Kohli was recognized as the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year. Sri Lanka captain and all-rounder Chamari Athapaththu claimed the title of ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year. Additionally, Richard Illingworth was named ICC Umpire of the Year, and players from Zimbabwe were honored with the ICC Spirit of Cricket Award.
