“What’s the problem in saying Jai Shri Ram? Say it 1,000 times”: Mohammed Shami.
Senior Team India cricketer Mohammed Shami recently expressed his views on the chanting of “Jai Shri Ram” slogans, stating that he sees no issue with it. Additionally, he mentioned that he would gladly say “Allahu Akbar” as well if he desired to do so. Shami’s comments come in the wake of the widespread chanting of “Jai Shri Ram” following the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While the country rejoiced in this significant event, there were isolated incidents that raised concerns among some individuals. During an event hosted by News18 India called ‘Chaupal’, Shami was asked about the targeting of religious minorities in India. He downplayed these concerns with his response.
Shami said “In every religion, you will come across 5 to 10 people who won’t like the person from the opposite religion. I don’t have any objection against it. Like how the topic of Sajda came up… If Ram Mandir is being built, then what’s the problem in saying Jai Shri Ram? Say it 1,000 times. If I want to say Allahu Akbar then I will say it 1,000 times… what difference does it make?”
