Addressing speculations, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah put an end to uncertainties surrounding India’s captaincy, expressing confidence in Rohit Sharma’s leadership. Speaking at the unveiling ceremony of the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, formerly known as the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Shah commended India’s commendable performance in the ODI World Cup 2023 and endorsed their potential to clinch victory in the T20 World Cup 2024.

Jay Shah said “People were waiting for me to speak about the ODI World Cup 2023. We may have lost the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup. But we won hearts there by winning 10 matches in a row. I am confident that India will win the 2024 T20I World Cup under Rohit Sharma.โ€
