Pakistan’s leading fast bowler, Haris Rauf, has found himself in hot water after opting out of the AUS vs PAK Test series in favor of participating in the Big Bash League. Consequently, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took swift action, terminating his central contract and imposing a ban on his participation in any overseas T20 leagues until June 30, 2024.

Following his decision, the PCB issued a showcause notice to Haris Rauf, requesting an explanation for his refusal to play Test cricket. Despite this, the fast bowler failed to provide a satisfactory justification for his actions.Haris Rauf had previously expressed concerns about his workload and cited potential injury risks.
