“Shame he’s doing it against England” – Jos Buttler heaps praises on Yashasvi Jaiswal after his stellar performance against England.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s remarkable performance in India’s ongoing series against England has not only captured the attention of cricket enthusiasts but has also garnered praise from his Rajasthan Royals teammate, Jos Buttler. Despite Jaiswal’s outstanding form coming at England’s expense, Buttler couldn’t contain his admiration for the young cricketer.

Jaiswal’s recent achievements in Test cricket have been truly exceptional. With consecutive double centuries in the second and third Tests against England, coupled with an impressive 80 in the first Test, the 22-year-old cricketer is emerging as one of India’s promising talents. His unbeaten 214 in the third Test not only propelled India to a historic victory but also saw him equal the record for the most sixes in a Test innings.

Having shared the opening partnership for Rajasthan Royals, Buttler has had the opportunity to observe Jaiswal’s growth closely. During the 2023 IPL season, Jaiswal’s explosive batting prowess overshadowed even Buttler’s performances, as he amassed 625 runs in 14 matches at an astonishing strike rate of 163.61.

Buttler took to Instagram to share his excitement after his IPL teammate’s second double-century. Despite being on the opposing side of Jaiswal’s brilliance, Buttler couldn’t help but express his happiness for his teammate.

Buttler wrote “Shame he’s doing it against England but very hard not to be so happy for @yashasvijaiswal28. Getting everything he deserves from his talent, hunger, and work ethic. WHAT A STAR!”
