(Watch) Jofra Archer bowls an unplayable inswinging delivery during County Championship 2nd XI match.
England fast bowler Jofra Archer took a significant step towards his return to professional cricket by featuring for the Sussex XI in County Cricket’s second division.
In a clip circulating on social media, the Barbadian showcased his skill by delivering a formidable in-swinging delivery that posed a challenge for the right-handed batsman facing him. The official handle of the County Championship shared the video, capturing the moment when Archer’s delivery proved too difficult for the batsman to handle, resulting in the ball striking his pad and the umpire subsequently raising his finger in response to Archer’s appeal.
Since March 2023, Archer has been absent from England’s cricket squad, largely due to injury, which has sidelined him from much of the action since 2020. Despite his setbacks, at the age of 24, Archer had previously enjoyed a meteoric rise in cricket, notably playing a pivotal role in England’s triumph at the 2019 World Cup, where he concluded the tournament with an impressive tally of 20 wickets in 11 matches, boasting an average of 23.05.
