‘Everybody will be coming out of a T20 format, and test cricket is a longer format’, Sunil Gavaskar upon challenge of Indian Team in WTC Final.
Batting legend Sunil Gavaskar believes that the transition from T20 cricket to the traditional red-ball format will pose a significant challenge for the Indian players in the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final.
Scheduled to be held at The Oval in London from June 7, the much-awaited WTC final will see India facing off against Australia. This highly-anticipated clash follows the conclusion of the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), in which numerous Indian cricketers took part.
Sunil Gavaskar commented โThe biggest test will be the fact that just about everybody will be coming out of a T20 format, and test cricket is a longer format. So, I think thatโs going to be the big challenge. They have only Cheteshwar Pujara who has been playing in the English County Championship, so he will be the only guy who has played the longer format in these conditions, so thatโs going to be the big challenge for them.”
