‘Rubbish shot’ Virat Kohli said To Steve Smith After His Dissmisal Reveals Justin Langer.
In the ongoing World Test Championship Final (WTC Final) former Indian cricket team captain, Virat Kohli, was heard engaging in banter with Australian batsman Steve Smith at the end of Day 3 . Smith, known for his unconventional shot selection in limited-overs cricket, played an uncharacteristic shot and was dismissed for 34 runs in the second innings. Kohli, seizing the opportunity, commented on Smith’s shot, referring to it as a ‘rubbish shot’. Surprisingly, Smith acknowledged the comment and agreed with Kohli.
Providing insight into the incident, Australian coach Justin Langer revealed that most players would have brushed off such comments from opponents.
Justin Langer said “Virat Kohli walked up to Steve Smith and said ‘rubbish shot yesterday’. Steve Smith just looked at him. If anyone else would have said it he would have gone ‘whatever’. But he said, “that’s right, it was a rubbish shot’. If 99.9 per cent of the population said that to Steve Smith he would go ‘whatever’. But coming from Virat, one genius to another, he goes ‘OK, fair enough’,”
