“What should Sarfaraz do?” Aakash Chopra questions selection committee for not selecting Sarfaraz Khan in Test Side.

Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has raised concerns over the omission of Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan from the Indian Test squad for the upcoming series against the West Indies. The Indian team is scheduled to tour the West Indies in July for two Test matches, three ODIs, and five T20Is. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Test and ODI squads for the Caribbean tour on Friday, June 23.

Sarfaraz Khan’s exclusion from the Test team has left many puzzled, especially considering his consistent performances in the Ranji Trophy. Aakash Chopra questioned the decision behind Sarfaraz’s non-selection, emphasizing the outstanding numbers he has posted over the last three years. According to Chopra, Sarfaraz has outperformed other players by a significant margin, leaving one to wonder what more the young talent needs to do to earn a spot in the team.

Chopra on his yt channel said “What should Sarfaraz do? If you look at his numbers in the past 3 years, he’s head and shoulders above the rest. He’s scored everywhere. Even then, if he’s not selected… what message does it send?”

He further added “This is a question worth asking. If there’s some other reason, something which you and I don’t know, make it public. Just say it that you didn’t like that particular thing about Sarfaraz, and that’s why you’re not considering him. But we don’t know if there’s something like that. I don’t know if someone told Sarfaraz about that. If you don’t value first-class runs, it leaves a sour taste in the mouth,”
