Sanjay Manjrekar prefers Kuldeep Yadav over Yuzi Chahal for World Cup 2023.

Sanjay Manjrekar, a former cricketer and commentator, believes that Kuldeep Yadav should be included in the Indian cricket team’s playing eleven for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. He suggests that Kuldeep should be selected ahead of Yuzvendra Chahal. Manjrekar’s reasoning behind this recommendation is based on the opponent’s weakness against wrist spin. He suggests that if the opposition struggles against wrist spinners, India should have both Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal in the playing XI.

Manjrekar further explains that he prefers Kuldeep because India needs a spinner who can take wickets when the opposition batsmen are trying to push for runs, rather than solely relying on hitting big shots. His opinion highlighted Kuldeep Yadav’s ability to create breakthroughs and pick up wickets during crucial phases of the game.

Sanjay Manjrekar said “If there is a real weakness in the opposition to play wrist-spin, then you have Kuldeep Yadav and Chahal both playing in the XI. I see Chahal being part of the squad but I prefer Kuldeep Yadav when it comes to wrist-spin as the spinner in 50-over cricket. I am getting a little technical here. You need a spinner who can get wickets of batters while they are pushing, not hitting the big shots,”.
