‘Teams don’t need a family atmosphere to be successful’, Aakash Chopra agrees with Ashwin’s opinion.

Former Indian cricketer and commentator, Aakash Chopra, has responded to Ravichandran Ashwin’s recent statement about the Indian team members’ camaraderie. Ashwin had mentioned that the players are like colleagues and not necessarily close friends. Echoing this sentiment, young batsman Prithvi Shaw also expressed a similar view, stating that he prefers solitude and doesn’t have many friends even while traveling.

Chopra drew a parallel with the Australian cricket team, highlighting that the players might not necessarily have strong personal bonds, but they have proven to be successful on the field. He emphasized that a harmonious atmosphere among teammates is not a mandatory requirement for a team’s success.

Chopra on his YT channel said “He said the absolutely correct thing as the successful Australian team, they didn’t really like each other as much, which is okay, but they were unstoppable as soon as they entered the ground. This happens in not one but a lot of teams. Teams don’t need to have a family atmosphere for them to be successful.”
