BCCI announces schedule for Team India’s 2023-24 home season having 3 ODIs, 8 T20Is and 5 Tests .

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the venues for India’s home season 2023-24, promising an exhilarating period for cricket enthusiasts. The upcoming season will see India engaging in a total of 16 International matches, including five Tests, three ODIs, and eight T20Is.

The confirmation of venues was made by BCCI’s Tours, Fixtures, and Technical Committee, which consists of Amitabh Vijayvargiya, Jayendra Sahgal, and Hari Narayan Pujari. The allocation of venues was carried out following the BCCI’s venue rotation policy, ensuring a fair distribution of matches across different cricketing centers in India.

The home season will kick off with India hosting Australia for a thrilling three-match ODI series, set to take place just ahead of the marquee ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup. The ODI series will be held in Mohali, Indore, and Rajkot, adding to the excitement of the cricketing fans in those cities. This series will serve as a crucial warm-up for both teams before the prestigious World Cup.

Following the 50-over World Cup, India will lock horns with Australia once again, this time in a captivating five-match T20I series. The T20I series is scheduled to commence on November 23 in Vizag and will conclude on December 3 in Hyderabad. Expectations will be high for a fiercely competitive contest between two formidable T20I teams.

As the new year dawns, Afghanistan will make their way to India for their maiden white-ball bilateral tour. The three-match T20I series will be held in Mohali and Indore, with the final match taking place in Bengaluru. It will be a historic moment for Afghanistan cricket, as Bengaluru will also be the venue where they played their first-ever Test match.

Test cricket will then take center stage as India prepares to host England for a momentous five-match Test series, starting on January 25, 2024. The highly anticipated Test series will witness battles of skill and determination at five different venues – Hyderabad, Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamsala. Fans can expect thrilling performances from both teams as they vie for supremacy in the longest format of the game.
