“It’s not an easy place to tour for reasons like this” , Ashwin express disappointment for 30 yard circle not drawn in the 3rd T20I.
Ravichandran Ashwin, prominent member of the Indian cricket team, emphasized the challenges of touring the West Indies, citing it as a complex environment for cricket matches. The assertion came after a peculiar incident during the third T20 International (T20I) match in Guyana, where the commencement of the game was delayed due to an oversight related to the field markings.
As the players and umpires took to the field, it became evident that the designated 30-yard circle had not been properly drawn. This unexpected hiccup led to a brief halt in proceedings, with the players exiting the field momentarily. The ground staff worked swiftly to rectify the situation, placing the necessary markers in order to initiate the match.
Ashwin tweeted “Unique delay! It’s not an easy place to tour for reasons like this. As a cricketer, one has to be switched on all the time and always expect the unexpected.”
This incident follows a sequence of challenges encountered during India’s tour of the West Indies. During the prior part of the tour, in which Hardik Pandya led the team for the final two One Day Internationals (ODIs), he had highlighted the importance of Cricket West Indies addressing the fundamental requirements that facilitate a smooth tour experience for visiting teams.
