Jasprit Bumrah returns back to Mumbai for birth of his child, will miss India’s match against Nepal in Asia Cup 2023 – Reports.

Team India’s leading fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, will not be participating in the Asia Cup 2023 match against Nepal scheduled for Monday, September 4. Bumrah’s absence is attributed to personal reasons as he has left the Indian team camp in Kandy to be with his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, during the birth of their first child. However, cricket fans need not be too concerned, as Bumrah is expected to rejoin the squad in time for the Super Four stage of the continental tournament. In his absence, the team management has Mohammed Shami available as a suitable replacement for the upcoming match.

Bumrah recently made a highly anticipated return to cricket last month during the Ireland tour, marking the end of an 11-month hiatus due to a back injury. He took charge of the young Indian side in the three-match T20I series against Ireland, where India emerged victorious with a 2-0 lead.

During the series, Bumrah made a notable impact by securing four wickets across two games and was rightfully honored with the Player of the Series award. Fans and cricket enthusiasts were eagerly awaiting Bumrah’s performance in the 50-over format, particularly in the much-anticipated match against Pakistan. However, Mother Nature had other plans, as rain disrupted the game, washing away the second half of the match.

While Bumrah’s absence against Nepal is unfortunate, his commitment to family is commendable, and fans can look forward to his return in the later stages of the Asia Cup, where he is expected to once again spearhead the Indian bowling attack with his exceptional skills and determination.
