In a rain-interrupted second ODI match, India secured a commanding victory over Australia by a margin of 99 runs, thus taking an insurmountable 2-0 lead in the three-match series held on Sunday.
India, after being put in to bat, displayed their prowess with the bat, amassing a formidable total of 399 runs. This imposing total was constructed on the back of splendid centuries from Shubman Gill and Shreyas Gill. KL Rahul, who led the team in the initial two games of the three-match series, contributed a brisk 52 runs off just 38 deliveries. Ishan Kishan played a valuable cameo, scoring 31 runs in a mere 18 balls, while Suryakumar Yadav showcased his exceptional skills by reaching his half-century in a lightning-fast 24 deliveries before accumulating 72 runs from 37 balls.
In response to India’s imposing total, Australia was faced with a revised target of 317 runs in 33 overs due to the second rain interruption of the day. However, they struggled to keep up with the required run rate and were eventually bowled out for 217 runs in 28.2 overs, conceding victory to India by a substantial 99-run margin.
