“I want him to be carried on the shoulders”- Virender Sehwag wants Virat Kohli to be given similar treatment like Sachin Tendulkar after 2023 World Cup

Former Indian opener, Virender Sehwag, is optimistic about star batsman Virat Kohli emerging as the top run-scorer in the upcoming 2023 World Cup, which is set to commence in less than a week.

A little over a decade ago, Kohli was among the young cricketers who celebrated alongside the legendary Sachin Tendulkar after India’s victorious 2011 World Cup campaign. Sehwag expresses his wish that if India secures victory in the 2023 World Cup, Kohli receives a similar hero’s welcome for his outstanding contributions to the nation over the years.

Sehwag said “Cheeku (Kohli) didn’t score a single century in the 2019 World Cup, this year I hope he scores many hundreds and ends up as the leading run-scorer in the tournament. Then, I want him to be carried on the shoulders and get a round of the ground.”
