Pakistan had an impressive start to their World Cup 2023 campaign with an 81-run victory over the Netherlands on Friday, October 6th at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Pakistan, batting first, scored 286 runs in 49 overs, led by Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan, who both contributed 68 runs each.

This incident occurred during the 39th over of the second innings when Rauf bowled a bouncer to the Dutch tailender on the fourth ball of the over. Following the delivery, Rauf approached the batter and exchanged words. In a spirited response, Van Meekeren also exchanged words with the fast bowler. Two balls later, Van Meekeren struck Rauf for a four on the off side and continued the exchange. However, Rauf had the final say as he dismissed the batsman’s stumps in the very next over and gave him an aggressive send-off.
