Rinku Singh played a crucial role in India’s thrilling victory over Australia in Vizag on Thursday, November 3, remaining unbeaten with 22 runs off just 14 balls. Known for his adept finishing abilities, particularly in the IPL, the left-handed batsman showcased his prowess for the Men in Blue.
Amidst the pressure of a last-over thriller and wickets falling at the other end, Rinku Singh remained calm and composed, drawing praise for his performance. He credited former Indian captain MS Dhoni for providing valuable advice, emphasizing that he followed Dhoni’s guidance during the match.
In a post-match video shared by BCCI, Rinku Singh expressed his gratitude for MS Dhoni’s counsel and credited him for helping him stay focused under pressure.
Rinku Singh said “I had once asked Mahi Bhai, ‘What is your mindset while batting in the last over?’ He said, ‘Try to remain as calm as possible and try to hit as straight as possible.’ I just follow that and it has helped me a lot.”

Additionally, Rinku Singh revealed that he was unaware that the six he hit on the final ball wasn’t counted due to the bowler overstepping.
“I didn’t know that I was a no ball (laughs). Arshdeep told me later in the dressing room and that the runs won’t count. It’s okay the important part was to win the game.”
