“It’s almost a done deal” – Aakash Chopra feels Ravi Bishnoi’s has fixed his place in India’s T20 World Cup squad.
Aakash Chopra suggests that Ravi Bishnoi has solidified his spot in India’s T20 World Cup squad, attributing it to his standout performance in the recent T20I series against Australia, where he emerged as the highest wicket-taker with nine scalps. With a track record of 34 wickets at an economy rate of 7.14 in 21 T20Is, Bishnoi’s form is commendable.
Chopra in his YouTube video said “I personally feel it’s almost a done deal. I feel his name will be there because of the way he is bowling and the number of wickets he is picking. He is consistent. He is a wicket-taker and bowls with the new ball.”
According to Chopra, a successful run in the IPL 2024 will likely confirm Bishnoi’s inclusion in the Lucknow Super Giants spinner’s spot for the Men in Blue at the T20 World Cup.
“The matches will be in America and the West Indies. Slightly quick in the air on slow pitches – I think he will bring value. The kid fields well and he is very accurate as a wrist-spinner. I feel if he keeps bowling like this and has a decent IPL, he is a done deal.”
The competition for the wrist-spinner’s role includes Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, both featuring in India’s T20I squad for the South Africa tour, while Chahal is part of the ODI squad despite being omitted from the shortest format.
