BCCI don’t want to play pink ball day-night Test matches in India due to as they last for less duration.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has opted not to host day-night Test matches in the country due to their tendency to conclude within a short span of two or three days. In the current home season, there are no plans for either men’s or women’s teams to participate in pink-ball games.

Expressing the organization’s stance, Jay Shah, the Secretary of the BCCI, emphasized their reluctance towards day-night Tests, citing the frequent trend of these matches concluding in a brief timeframe of three days or less.

Jay Shah said “The fans are not interested, and we will have to increase their interest level in pink-ball Tests. The games are finished in two or three days instead of lasting for four to five days. Once the fans are used to it, we will go for day-night five-day games.Australia conducted it last time, and since then there has been no pink-ball Tests. We were in talks with the England Cricket Board, but we will do it gradually,”

India has partaken in a total of four pink-ball Tests, achieving success in three encounters while suffering a single defeat. The latest instance occurred in Bengaluru, where the Indian team secured victory against Sri Lanka within three days.It is noteworthy that the Indian women’s team engaged in their sole pink-ball Test against Australia in 2021, resulting in a draw
