Alex Hales retires from International Cricket, will play more franchise cricket over the World.

In a surprising move, England’s limited-overs specialist, Alex Hales, has announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect, leaving the cricketing fraternity shocked. The 34-year-old cricketer expressed his desire to focus on prolonging his career by participating in franchise cricket and representing Nottinghamshire moving forward.

Alex Hales made his debut for the England team in 2011 during a T20I match and went on to have an illustrious international career. He represented England in 11 Test matches, 70 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and 75 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).

One of his most significant contributions came during the T20 World Cup last year, where he played a pivotal role in England’s success. Hales showcased his batting prowess and skill as he scored 212 runs in the tournament, making him the second-highest run-scorer for his team during the competition.

With his decision to step away from international cricket, Hales aims to focus on franchise cricket, where he can continue to showcase his talents in various T20 leagues around the world. Additionally, he looks forward to representing Nottinghamshire in domestic competitions.
