Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi got into Heated Argument as Pakistan’s gets eliminated from Asia Cup: Pakistan Media Reports.

Just a few weeks ago, Pakistan held the coveted position of the number 1 ranked ODI team, and they were regarded as strong contenders for the Asia Cup 2023 title. However, their unexpected exit from the Asia Cup has stirred up controversy within the team. Captain Babar Azam’s squad finished at the bottom of the Super 4 points table, securing only one victory.

Reports from Pakistani media sources have shed light on a heated argument that unfolded in the dressing room following Pakistan’s elimination from the Asia Cup 2023, particularly after their loss to Sri Lanka.

According to Bolnews, a Pakistani media outlet, Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi engaged in a heated exchange of words after the team’s exit from the tournament. It was reported that Mohammad Rizwan had to step in as a peacemaker to diffuse the situation. Babar Azam expressed his dissatisfaction with the performances of some senior players and urged them to raise their standards.

Recognizing that the situation was becoming increasingly tense, Mohammad Rizwan and head coach Grant Bradburn intervened to mediate the dispute. Following this confrontation, Babar Azam left for a press conference and then proceeded directly to the team bus and the hotel, refraining from further interactions with his teammates.
