BCCI allows Virat Kohli to attend Ram Mandir consecration ceremony

Star India cricketer Virat Kohli is set to attend the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on Monday, January 22. Kohli obtained permission from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to participate in the event. The Indian cricket team will have a two-day break following the third T20I against Afghanistan on January 17, gathering in Hyderabad on January 20 for preparation ahead of the first Test against England starting on January 25 at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

As per a Cricbuzz report, Kohli plans to join the sacred Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya after his practice session on January 21. The 35-year-old cricketer received the invitation at his Mumbai residence, accompanied by his Bollywood actor wife Anushka Sharma. Alongside Kohli, former Indian cricketers MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar have also been invited to witness the grand occasion of Lord Ram Lalla’s homecoming.

While gearing up for the third T20I against Afghanistan, Kohli was seen training at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Delhi-born batter marked his return to the T20I side after 14 months during the second game of the series in Indore, displaying an aggressive approach against the opposition.
