The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the Test and ODI squads for the forthcoming tour of the West Indies. India is scheduled to visit the Caribbean nation next month, with the two-match Test series commencing on July 12. Following the Test matches, the teams will engage in a three-match ODI series, followed by five T20Is.

Rohit Sharma has been appointed as the captain of the Test squad, with Ajinkya Rahane assuming the role of vice-captain. The Test squad features several fresh faces, including Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ishan Kishan, Mukesh Kumar, and Navdeep Saini. Notably, there have been significant changes from India’s previous World Test Championship squad, and surprisingly, Cheteshwar Pujara has been excluded from the team.

While the T20I squad is yet to be revealed, Rohit Sharma will continue to lead the side in the ODIs as the Indian team prepares for the Asia Cup and the highly anticipated World Cup. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Mukesh Kumar have also secured spots in the ODI squad, alongside notable inclusion Sanju Samson. Jaydev Unadkat has earned a place in both the ODI and Test squads.
