“But you must also remember who’s winning the international tournaments”, Daren Sammy mocks Indian team for not winning a ICC Title from 10 years.
It is evident that the Indian cricket team has encountered challenges in securing an ICC title over the past several years. While the team, under the leadership of former captain MS Dhoni, clinched victory in the Champions Trophy in 2013, they have since been unable to secure any ICC titles.
India has consistently nurtured exceptional talents in the realm of world cricket; however, they have fallen short of securing a major title. Observing the team’s prolonged lack of success in ICC tournaments, Daren Sammy, the head coach of the West Indies cricket team, playfully commented on India’s inability to secure a significant title.
Daren Sammy said “When you the see the players they’ve been able to produce, Hardik Pandya, (Yashasvi) Jaiswal all the guys they produced over the years but you must also remember who’s winning the international tournaments.”
Sammy expressed admiration for India’s emerging cricketers and shared his perspective that despite the nation’s track record of producing remarkable talents, the ultimate measure of success is determined by which team emerges victorious in international tournaments.
Sammy added “Like I said, Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson who didn’t play, he’s been performing. Hardik Pandya who’s young but he is seasoned in the team. Again, it speaks of the system they have that keeps producing these youngsters.”
