CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan provides a update over Ms Dhoni injury says ‘He’ll rest for three weeks, then start his rehab’.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni achieved a remarkable feat by leading his team to a historic fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) title. Despite facing challenges due to a knee injury, Dhoni’s leadership and determination guided his team to victory in the final against the Gujarat Titans, captained by Hardik Pandya.
Throughout the IPL 2023 season, Dhoni displayed exceptional commitment by not missing a single match, despite his well-known struggle with a knee injury. After games, he was often seen wearing a cast around his knee. However, to address the issue, Dhoni recently underwent surgery in Mumbai and is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
Regarding Dhoni’s injury status and potential return to the IPL, Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of Chennai Super Kings, shared an update. He revealed that he had spoken to Dhoni, who informed him about his plans to rest for three weeks before starting the rehabilitation process. This cautious approach reflects the importance of giving Dhoni adequate time to recover and regain his fitness.
Kasi Viswanathan said “Actually, he told us immediately after the final is over, he’ll fly to Mumbai, have surgery, and go back to Ranchi for rehab. In Mumbai, after Ruturaj’s wedding (on June 4), I visited him. It was a courtesy call. He’s quite comfortable. He said he’ll rest for three weeks and then start his rehab. And like he said, he’s not going to play until January-February. We don’t need to remind him about all that,”
