“England will not complain against India if ball starts turning from day 1 in Test series”: England’s vice captain Oille Pope.
England’s vice-captain, Ollie Pope, expressed his view that there wouldn’t be any complain from the visiting team even if the ball starts turning from day 1 in the upcoming 5-match Test series against India.
The red-ball matches are scheduled to commence in Hyderabad on January 25, and the BCCI has unveiled the 16-man squad for the initial two Tests, featuring Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav.
The composition of the bowling attack with four spinners suggests the nature of pitches England is likely to encounter during the tour.
Oillie Pope said “There will be a lot of outside noise and the nature of the pitches can be questioned. But, both teams will play on the same teams, so we need to adapt as a unit,In England, we have pitches to help our seamers and it is no suprise it India go ahead with the tracks that help their spinners. Low scoring matches are good to watch.”
He acknowledged India’s right to create pitches that align with their requirements and leverage the conditions to for their advantage, asserting that England has no intention of lodging complaints regarding the spinning pitches.
“The scores could be low in India and we won’t be complaining. We will have to find a way to score runs on such track,” added the England Vice Captain.
