“Even if the team isn’t doing well, he doesn’t show it”, Curtly Ambrose praises Rohit Sharma’s for his calmness as a captain.

Renowned West Indies fast-bowling icon, Curtly Ambrose, has expressed his admiration for the composed demeanor of Indian cricket team captain, Rohit Sharma. Ambrose has lauded Rohit for his ability to maintain a calm and collected disposition, even in the face of challenges. According to Ambrose, this quality is indicative of Rohit’s prowess as a capable captain.

Following his appointment as the full-time captain in the previous year, Rohit Sharma assumed the leadership role from Virat Kohli. Under Rohit’s guidance, the Indian team exhibited commendable performances, including a semi-final appearance in the 2022 T20 World Cup and a berth in the final of the 2023 World Test Championship. Though these efforts concluded with losses, Rohit’s steady leadership was evident.

The upcoming months hold significant opportunities for the Indian cricket team to secure coveted international titles. The Men in Blue are poised to renew their pursuit of an ICC championship during the ODI World Cup, scheduled to take place in India from October to November. Preceding this high-stakes event, India will participate in the Asia Cup. The tournament is set to unfold across Sri Lanka and Pakistan in a hybrid format from August 30 to September 17.

In a candid conversation on the Revsportz platform, Ambrose shared his perspective on Rohit Sharma’s captaincy

Ambrose said “I do like his style of captaincy. I like his calm demeanor. Even if the team isn’t doing well, he doesn’t show it. He is always very cool and calm, which is very good for a leader. Once he’s got the support of the rest of the team, they are going to be okay.”

He added “There is added pressure of playing at home, but I believe these guys are experienced enough and are good enough to cope with the pressure. I believe they are going to do well,”
