“Flat Track Bully”, “No Ahmedabad, No Party for Shubman Gill”, fans brutally trolls Shubman Gill as he scores low in 2nd ODI.

Shubman Gill’s disappointing tour of the West Indies continued in the second ODI at Barbados on July 29. The 23-year-old struggled during his innings, scoring only 34 runs from 49 deliveries at a strike rate below 70 before being dismissed by left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie.

During his innings, Gill attempted to break free by charging down the track and going for an aerial shot, but he mistimed the delivery and handed a catch to Alzarri Joseph at long-off. This dismissal added to his poor run of form during the tour, where he has managed only 86 runs in both Test and ODI matches combined, at an average of 21.50.

Moreover, this marked the tenth consecutive innings without a half-century for Gill since his sensational century in the final Test against Australia at Ahmedabad.

While Gill struggled in the ODI series after the Tests, it’s important to note his excellent performance in the IPL season, where he won the Orange Cap, scoring 890 runs in 17 matches at an impressive average of nearly 60. Additionally, he displayed breathtaking form earlier in the year, scoring four centuries in seven games against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, including his maiden ODI double-century and T20I century against the Kiwis.

Given his recent dip in form and the upcoming ODI World Cup in less than three months, some fans expressed their concern on social media about Gill’s lack of runs and struggles outside of India.
