Hardik Pandya set to miss two more games, will be fit for last two league games from 5th November.
Hardik Pandya Injury Update For World Cup 2023: India is set to continue missing the valuable contributions of Hardik Pandya on the cricket field, with the latest updates suggesting that the Indian all-rounder will only be available for the last two World Cup league matches against South Africa on November 5 and the Netherlands. Unfortunately, Pandya’s return to the team prior to the game against England in Lucknow seems increasingly unlikely.
This revelation comes as it has been reported that Hardik Pandya has yet to resume bowling after sustaining an ankle injury during the India vs. Bangladesh match held in Pune just last week. The medical team overseeing his recovery at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore has opted to exercise caution and allow him more time to recuperate. Consequently, Pandya is expected to rejoin the Indian squad in Mumbai or Kolkata at a later date.
The Indian team management is treading carefully and avoiding any rush in Pandya’s comeback, prioritizing his full fitness for the last two critical matches. As the Indian team maintains a strong winning streak in the ongoing World Cup, they are keen on having a completely fit Pandya available for the semi-finals.
Notably, Pandya was absent from the game against New Zealand in Dharamsala on October 22. Instead, he was swiftly sent to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for treatment by a specialist doctor from England, who administered the required injections. Initially, there were expectations of his quick return to the team in Lucknow, but this assessment has since been revised.
