“Hope This The Turning Point For Abdul Samad”,Says Former SRH Coach Tom Moody.
SRH was on the edge of losing in an exciting game because they needed five runs to win off the final delivery. Jos Buttler easily caught the ball at long-off after Samad failed to clear the ropes. However, after watching the replay and determining that Sandeep Sharma had overstepped, the third umpire stepped in and declared it a no-ball. Samad took advantage of the situation and smashed a remarkable six to secure SRH’s fourth victory of the year with four runs needed off the final delivery.
Former SRH coach Tom Moody praised Samad and said “I hope that it gives the management and the franchise confidence that they have got the right person because that is the hardest part. Forget about the player having confidence, you need the organisation – wherever you are – to have confidence in you, and I think if you look at his erratic selection over the last two years, I think that hopefully, this is the turning point for him,”
