“I am not a man of tattoos, but the tattoo is well inside by heart” ,Ravichandran Ashwin on playing for India means to him.
Team India’s off-spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, has emphasized the profound significance of representing his country, stating that it holds a special place in his heart, and Indian cricket is his utmost priority. Ashwin reiterated his unwavering commitment to giving his best for the team and contributing in any way he can.
Ashwin recently received a call-up to the Indian cricket team for the ODI series against Australia, commencing on Friday, September 22. This opportunity arose due to Axar Patel’s injury during the Asia Cup, which provided Ashwin with a chance to return to the ODI format. His last appearance in a one-day international for India was in January 2022.
In a candid interview featured on bcci.tv, Ashwin shared his deep sentiments about wearing the Indian jersey and what it means to him.
Ashwin said “For me, Indian cricket is the highest prerogative. To put my best foot forward and be in a state of contribution and obviously put myself in a situation, where I can turn the game on this head, that’s every cricketer’s dream, so push comes to shove when the game starts. For me, Indian cricket is very close to my heart. I am not a man of tattoos, but the tattoo is well inside by heart.”
