“I am not interested”: Rohit Sharma bold statement on Bazball ahead of IND vs ENG 1st Test.

Team India captain Rohit Sharma has downplayed the significance of England’s Bazball strategy in Test cricket. During a pre-match press conference, the Indian captain emphasized his focus on his team’s performance rather than dwelling on the opposition’s tactics.

Rohit Sharma said “We will look to play our cricket. I am not interested in how the opposition is going to play. I am focused on what we want to do as a team.”

England, under the leadership of Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum, has adopted an aggressive approach in Test cricket, yielding positive results with several victories. Their proactive stance, evident from the first Test ball, has often put opposing teams on the defensive. Notably, England secured a 3-0 victory against Pakistan in challenging sub-continent conditions.

Despite England’s success, some former cricketers express skepticism about the effectiveness of their playing style on the spinning tracks of India.

Rohit Sharma’s remarks reflect a determination to concentrate on Team India’s own game plan rather than being overly concerned about the approach of the English team.

The eagerly awaited first Test between India and England is scheduled to commence on January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.
