“I could take heaps of wickets against Bazball”: Jasprit Bumrah.

Jasprit Bumrah, the prominent Indian pacer, is well aware of the impact Bazball can have, having experienced its consequences in the rescheduled fifth Test against England on July 22 at Edgbaston. In that match, England successfully chased down 378 runs in the final innings, securing victory by seven wickets. With Rohit Sharma absent, Bumrah led the side, gaining firsthand experience of England’s potential for destructive cricket.

Despite this encounter, the 30-year-old remains unfazed about England’s Bazball as the upcoming five-match Test series approaches, commencing on January 25 in Hyderabad. Bumrah expressed that he doesn’t really resonate with the term but is enthusiastic about the prospect, seeing it as an opportunity for bowlers to claim numerous wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah (to Gurdian) said โ€œI don’t really relate to the term Bazball. But they are playing successful cricket and the aggressive route of taking the opposition on, showing the world there’s another way to play Test cricket. As a bowler, what I think is that it keeps me in play. And if they’re going for it, playing so fast, they won’t tire me out, I could get heaps (of wickets). I always think about how I can use things to my advantage. Kudos to them but, as a bowler, you’re in the game.”
