I don’t have much confidence in Bharat’s batting: says Harbhajan Singh Ahead Of WTC Final.
In a recent statement, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh shared his opinion on the selection conundrum surrounding KS Bharat and Ishan Kishan for the highly anticipated World Test Championship finale against Australia. However, Singh has now expressed his reservations about Bharat’s batting abilities, suggesting that Kishan should be considered for the crucial match due to his aggressive playing style, similar to that of Rishabh Pant.
It is worth noting that KS Bharat has represented India in four Test matches to date but has yet to make a significant impact with the bat. On the other hand, Ishan Kishan, who is yet to make his Test debut, showcased promising form in the recently concluded IPL 2023. Consequently, Harbhajan Singh has thrown his support behind Kishan, endorsing his inclusion in the playing XI for the World Test Championship final, captained by Rohit Sharma
“Why Ishan Kishan should be considered ahead of Bharat? I think this will add more strength to batting as Ishan Kishan can tackle the new ball much better than Bharat. He is an opener too and is in good form. So if the second new ball is introduced after 80 overs and Ishan walks out to bat he can play as an opener, Rishabh Pant is an explosive batter and Ishan also has the same quality. Although Bharat is superb behind the wickets, I don’t have much confidence in Bharat’s batting,”
