“I think Ben Foakes has a little man crush on him” – Ben Stokes lauds Dhruv Jurel with a funny comment.
In a post-match press conference following England’s defeat in the fourth Test at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Monday, February 26, England captain Ben Stokes humorously remarked on Indian stumper Dhruv Jurel’s stellar performance, suggesting that England keeper-batter Ben Foakes might admire Jurel.
Stokes said “Both innings he’s played very well. His keeping was also something to watch – I think Ben Foakes has a little man crush on him there.”
Jurel, named Player of the Match for his impressive scores of 90 and 39*, showcased remarkable skills both with the bat and behind the stumps. During the game, Jurel played pivotal innings, steering India out of precarious situations, particularly in the first innings where India was struggling at 177/7.
Additionally, in the second innings, Jurel contributed significantly alongside Shubman Gill to secure a series-clinching victory for India. Jurel’s consistent contributions throughout the series, including a defiant 46 in the first innings of the Rajkot Test, underscore his growing stature in Indian cricket.
