“I will put my name forward” Zak Crawley will be playing IPL 2024.

England’s opening batsman, Zak Crawley, is keeping his options open regarding his potential participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction for the 2024 edition. The right-handed batter has emphasized the importance of being pragmatic and indicated that he would only consider joining the IPL if a genuine opportunity arises. While Crawley’s primary focus has been Test cricket since his debut on the international stage, he remains receptive to the idea of participating in the IPL.

Despite his limited exposure to the shorter formats of the game, Crawley has demonstrated promise. He has represented England in just three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and has yet to make an appearance in a Twenty20 International (T20I) match. Nevertheless, he has maintained an impressive strike rate of 114 in the 50-over format, including a notable half-century performance.

In a conversation with ESPN Cricinfo, the 25-year-old expressed his admiration for the IPL, hailing it as one of the most significant franchise tournaments in cricket. He highlighted the IPL’s unique role in providing players with the opportunity to challenge themselves against top-tier competition.

Zak Crawley remarkedIt’s the biggest franchise tournament in the world. It’s the only place to see all the best playing against each other. It’s great cricket and to be able to test yourself in that tournament would be awesome. We’ll see how I go. If I score some runs and it looks like I’ve half a chance then, then potentially I will put my name forward. I’m a realistic guy though, so if I feel like there’s no chance then I won’t… If I was good enough one day to play in the IPL and someone wanted me, then I’d absolutely love to go,”
