“I would have Chahal in my squad”, Irfan Pathan after Yuzvendra Chahal gets dropped from Asia Cup 2023 squad.

Irfan Pathan, the former Indian cricketer, holds the opinion that the selection committee should have incorporated leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in India’s roster for the 2023 Asia Cup.

The ex-cricketer, who has transitioned into a commentator’s role, voiced his apprehensions pertaining to the bowling department. This concern arises due to the ODI comebacks of Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna, who had endured prolonged periods of injury-induced absence.

Pathan further asserted that the inclusion of these two pacers was the foremost consideration influencing India’s emphasis on bolstering the team’s batting depth.
