ICC announces prize money for World Cup 2023, Winner to get US$4 million(33 cores)
The 13th edition of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is set to offer substantial rewards for the participating teams. The victorious team of this 10-team tournament will not only secure the prestigious trophy but also earn a significant cash prize of US$4 million. This momentous occasion is scheduled to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 19 November
The runners-up in the tournament will also be rewarded handsomely, receiving a prize of US$2 million. Even the teams that make it to the semi-finals but fall short of the championship will not leave empty-handed, as they will each be awarded $800,000. This substantial prize pool amounts to a total of US$10 million, emphasizing the grandeur of this cricketing event.
The tournament, featuring 48 thrilling matches, will unfold across 10 different venues, commencing on 5 October. It is worth noting that this edition of the Cricket World Cup is the largest ever, promising excitement and competition like never before.
To further incentivize excellence in the group stage, teams will receive cash rewards for each league match they win. The format involves teams playing against each other once in a round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals.
For every victory in the group stage, the winning team will receive a commendable sum of US$40,000. Even the six teams that do not secure a spot in the semi-finals will not leave the tournament empty-handed, as they will receive a payment of US$100,000 for their efforts.
