‘I’m happy, this is just a start, I’ve a lot to do’ – Yashasvi Jaiswal after scoring century on debut

Courtesy of a magnificent ton against the West Indies, Yashasvi Jaiswal, the young cricket prodigy, joined the elite panel of players who have achieved the remarkable feat of scoring a century on their Test debut. Jaiswal’s exceptional performance on Day 2, following an unbeaten score of 40* on Day 1, displayed his immense talent and potential in the world of international cricket. Throughout his innings, Jaiswal showcased an impressive blend of composure and determination, leaving the Windies bowlers struggling to find answers for a significant part of the day.

Reflecting on his incredible knock, Jaiswal humbly expressed his desire to dedicate this remarkable achievement to his loving parents. With India currently holding a commanding lead of 162 runs over the hosts, Jaiswal now has his sights set on reaching the milestone of a double century, as he continues his superb batting display at an unbeaten score of 143*.

Jaiswal said “It is very emotional for me and my family. For everyone who has supported me in any way. It has been a long journey. I want to say thank you to everyone who have helped me. I want to dedicate this to my mother and father, they’ve contributed a lot. Thanks to god. I won’t say much now… I’m happy, this is just a start, I’ve a lot to do.”
