“I’m still waiting”- A barber puts allegations upon Alex Carey for not paying £30 for haircut, but later Steve Smith denies.

Australian cricketer Alex Carey has found himself in the spotlight once again, but this time it has nothing to do with his on-field performance. The English media, known for their colorful choice of words, has labeled him the ‘Ashes villain’ following a controversial stumping incident involving Jonny Bairstow. However, recent headlines concerning Carey revolve around an allegation made by a barber from Leeds, who claims that the cricketer visited his shop for a haircut but left without making a payment.

According to a report by The Sun, Carey, accompanied by his teammates David Warner and Usman Khawaja, visited Doc Barnet’s Barber Shop in Leeds. While Warner and Khawaja willingly posed for photographs and settled their bills, Carey allegedly refused to have his picture taken and departed without paying.

Adam Mahmood, the barber at Doc Barnet’s Barber Shop, recounted the incident and stated that Carey claimed he did not have cash on hand. Unfortunately, the shop does not accept card payments, which prompted Carey to promise that he would transfer the money later. However, as of now, the Australian wicketkeeper has yet to fulfill his promise of transferring £30, the cost of the haircut.

The barber as reported by Sun said “I’m still waiting,” Mahmood said in a chat with The Sun. “They all came in just before we shut. We cut their hair and had a great laugh. But we don’t accept cards and Alex said he had no cash on him. Well, there’s a Tesco cash machine literally round the corner he could have run to.”

But later Alex Carey teammate Steve Smith took on to the new social media platform “Threads” and called these allegations false. Stating the Carey hasn’t got haircut since they are in London
