In a highly anticipated development, MS Dhoni, the captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), is preparing to return to the training grounds as he sets his sights on the upcoming IPL 2024 season. The cricket maestro, aged 42, led the Super Kings to a remarkable fifth IPL title in the previous year but encountered a setback with a left knee injury post the tournament, leading to a surgical intervention.
Revealing Dhoni’s current fitness status, K.S. Viswanathan, the CEO of the franchise, shared that the CSK skipper is in good shape and has been actively undergoing rehabilitation in the gym. Encouragingly, he expects Dhoni to resume practice sessions in the nets within the next ten days.
CSK CEO said “He is doing well now. He has started his rehab and is working in the gym. And, probably in another ten days, he will also start working in the nets.“With the season set to start around March 22, we are planning for a camp in Chennai by the first week of March.”
As the IPL season is scheduled to kick off around March 22, the Super Kings are strategically planning a training camp in Chennai during the first week of March.
