“India is like a second home” says Pat Cummins on Indian fans ahead of IPL 2024.

Australian cricketer Pat Cummins expressed his fondness for India, likening it to a second home as he prepares to join the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the 2024 IPL season. With SRH securing his services for a record-breaking ₹20.50 crore, Cummins is set to become one of the most expensive players in IPL history.

Reports indicate that SRH is considering appointing him as captain for the upcoming season. Cummins, speaking to Star Sports, described the experience of playing in India as “great,” particularly when the crowd is supportive.

Cummins said “India is like a second home. We spend so much time here. IPL you’ve got your home teams. So you actually feel like you’ve got plenty of fans Or, you know, at least cricket fans that have, you know, supported you or, you know, lots of people come up to me and say, Oh, I’m from Kolkata or I go for KKR. So it’s nice feeling like not everyone’s against you.”

SRH is determined to bounce back from a disappointing previous season, where they finished at the bottom of the points table with only four wins in 14 games. Cummins has previously played for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2014-15 and 2020-22, as well as a season with the Delhi Capitals (DC) in 2017.
