India with lead of 250 run, Virat Kohli unbeaten on 72.
At lunch on Day 3, India finds themselves in a commanding position at 400/4, holding a significant lead of 250 runs over the West Indies. Yashasvi Jaiswal, making his debut, played a brilliant innings of 171 runs before being dismissed by Alzarri Joseph. Ajinkya Rahane, unfortunately, fell early, contributing only 3 runs to the total. Despite the West Indies’ efforts to keep the fight alive, Virat Kohli held firm and reached a hard-fought half-century off 147 balls. He formed a partnership of 44 runs off 77 balls with Ravindra Jadeja.
India continued their dominant performance from the previous two days as they started Day 3 with Yashasvi Jaiswal reaching his well-deserved century. Jaiswal became only the third Indian to achieve this feat in his debut Test match. However, shortly after reaching 171 runs, Jaiswal was dismissed by Alzarri Joseph. Despite this setback, the West Indies face an uphill battle in preventing India from posting a total exceeding 500 runs.
