In the lead-up to the series against South Africa, young cricketer Ishan Kishan decided to withdraw from the Indian team, citing mental fatigue. While the team management accepted his decision, Kishan has not yet made himself available for selection. During this period, reports have surfaced suggesting that the wicketkeeper-batsman was displeased and unhappy with Jitesh Sharma’s inclusion in the T20I squad, a situation that could potentially complicate his spot in the playing XI.

Notably, Kishan has been absent from the Ranji Trophy, choosing not to represent Jharkhand. Instead, he is presently engaged in training sessions with Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya at Reliance Stadium in Baroda. His anticipated return to competitive cricket is likely to occur during the upcoming IPL.
