“It swung away late” – Kagiso Rabada talks on wicket taking ball to Virat Kohli, India Vs South Africa 1st Test.
South African pacer Kagiso Rabada highlighted that the late swing of the ball led to Virat Kohli’s dismissal on Day 1 of the first India Vs South Africa Test. Despite Kohli covering the swing well initially, Rabada’s delivery forced him to edge it.
The Rabada-Kohli battle is a key subplot in the India-South Africa Test series, with Rabada claiming victory in round one by dismissing Kohli for 38 off 64 balls on December 26. Rabada’s delivery angled in and curved away late, catching Kohli off guard.

The 28-year-old finished the day with a five-wicket haul, including dismissals of Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Shardul Thakur, acknowledging that it was his exceptional day.
“(Such) days happen in cricket. This was my day. Pretty happy with the way I bowled. India have quite a bit of experience and if anyone told us that it will be 208 for 8, we would have taken that before the game.”
