“It would be unjust if weather had a decisive say” Stuart Broad wants some luck in England’s way amidst the rain at Old Trafford.
England seamer, Stuart Broad, is optimistic about his team’s chances in the fourth Ashes Test at Old Trafford. The 37-year-old believes that the hosts deserve some luck, given their consistent momentum throughout the series despite losing the first two Tests.
Unfortunately, persistent rain on Day 4 in Manchester limited the play to just 30 overs, allowing Australia to reduce their deficit to 61 from the initially challenging 162. As Day 5’s forecast predicts more showers, England might have to settle for a draw.
In his column for the Daily Mail, Broad expressed his hope that the match won’t be significantly affected by rain, as it would be a disappointment to see such an exciting series disrupted, considering how well England has performed.
Broad wrote “Sitting in the changing room watching the rain fall yesterday, there was definitely a feeling it would be unjust if weather had a decisive say. I have never felt the momentum has left us in this series because ultimately we played a brilliant game at Edgbaston, although Australia came out on top. In our own minds, we felt we played all the cricket — we declared on day one, bowled them out and tried to set up a game to get a result.”
